MHTC and Diamond-Like  Coatings:
High wear resistance-
Low friction-
Non-sticking-
Tunable electrical conductivity-
Diamond-like  coatings are vacuum deposited amorphous thin films consisting of two interpenetrating networks, one being a diamond-like carbon network (a-C:H, DLC) and the other a glass-like network (a-Si:O). The mechanical, electrical and optical properties can be tuned over a wide range by changing deposition conditions and composition, such as doping with metals.

Diamond-like  coatings offer a cost-effective solution to many industrial problems when applied as low friction coatings for wear protection of sliding machine components in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and plastics processing industry, release coatings on sealing elements and moulds, wear resistant coatings for electromechanical contacts with controlled electrical conductivity and wear resistant, non-sticking coatings on surgical instruments and prostheses, forming molds and dies for metals and  plastics..
